Millie Made a Mess!

Teddy Bear Week

Millie is visiting Ms. Peter’s Kindergarten class at Taipei American School. Last week all the students brought in their teddy bears so that they could join us with all the fun learning we do. We told them that they had to follow the rules or they wouldn’t be allowed to stay for the fun Teddy Bear Picnic! Millie was very excited and happy to meet so many teddy bear friends.

On the first day we told all the bears they could spend the night at school, BUT they had to behave and follow the rules we taught them that day. When we came to school the next morning we were so shocked to see the classroom was closed and the door was marked “Crime Scene”! The bears had left such a mess!!! Even Millie had poured out all the teddy bear counters and left them scattered across the table…oh dear!

Bears in Trouble

Our Lower School Principal, Ms. Simeonidis, and our Lower School Associate Principal, Ms. Becky Klar had to come and talk to all of us about how disappointed they were in the bears’ behavior. It was up to us to teach the bears the rules, or they wouldn’t be allowed to stay!

Even the head of security at Taipei American School, Mr. Huang, had to come speak to us about what he and is team found the bears doing that night! They were running, yelling, fighting, and not being respectful or responsible with all the different toys and tools in the classrooms. We definitely had a big job to do!

That week, Millie and all of our bears watched us every day as we did our work and went through our routines. They even got to join in our first writing celebration! We published our first books in kindergarten and shared them with our buddies. Millie really enjoyed listening to us reading. She showed respect as she listened quietly.

Millie joined in during choice time too. We have choice time at the end of the day, and it is a good time to demonstrate that we know our responsibilities. Millie shared the toys and tools, she waited for her turn, and at the end of choice time, she helped to tidy up. Good job Millie!
