Students are enjoying reading nonfiction books and learning that nonfiction authors write these books for a reason. They want to teach us what they know. As we read we ask aloud:
- What is the author trying to teach me?
- What clues can I find in the pictures?
- What clues can I find in the words?
- How does all the information fit together?
- Our reading Super Powers: Look at the Pictures, Make your mouth say the first sound, Stretch out the sounds, Does it make sense?, Point to each word
