Tessie arrived to Nigeria right before the school closed for the December break. The children had been awaiting her arrival with great enthusiasm, so the day she finally arrived, we provided a her with a warm welcome. We learned about the places she had been before visiting us, and we looked through all the things she had in her little box. We knew that she had been in Australia, and that made Emma (who is from Australia) very happy. The preschoolers showed her our classroom, the playground, and took turns to play and read with her. Tessie helped the children make gingerbread cookies, came to our school sing-along and danced a bit to the tune of Jingle Bells Rock.
