Daisy had a mishap in New York! So she sent her twin sister, Maisy, on in her place. Below is the letter she sent with Maisy to the children in Illinois.
Dear Boys and Girls,
I have an apology to make- I’m sorry I am not here. While traveling from Shanghai, China my plane had a long layover in New York. I decided to take a taxi and visit the Empire State Building. While I was on the observation deck, I ran into an old friend who I haven’t seen since I was a small cub! We got to talking, and well, I’m embarrassed to admit this but I missed my connecting flight to Chicago O’Hare. I texted my sister Maisy and she said she would like to come to Arbor View and meet you, so Maisy is here instead.
I know you will all love Maisy! She really loves to read. Read, read, read- that’s all she wants to do! So while she’s at Arbor View, I hope she gets to listen to stories and have you read aloud to her. She’s also working on how to spell words like June and rule. Do you think you can help her with this?
I hope you have so much fun with Maisy! She’ll be with you until Thanksgiving and then she’s off to North Carolina to visit another school.
Love,
Daisy
