After being stuck in customs for a couple of weeks, Jerry finally made it to our school. Jerry was a little exhausted from the trip, however he was super excited to be in Zagreb. Jerry arrived just in time for our Ireland Passport Week and St Patrick’s Day Celebrations. Jerry’s arrival was kept as a secret surprise to our children, and was introduced as ‘what arrived for us in a box?’ The children had lots of fun suggestions trying to guess, such as, a feather, souvenir, mini TV, jewelry, however the most favorite suggestion was that Jerry was a leprechaun trapped inside the box. The children adored Jerry at first sight and he naturally became a member of our class. The children were super excited to read, watch and look at where Jerry had traveled to, this was one of the main highlights of Jerry’s visit, for our children to imagine the places he had been to and seen. Jerry fully participated in all the children’s learning experiences, and was a great comforter to our children when they needed a cuddle. Jerry arrived at our school during a busy time, and participated in several whole school learning experiences, such as, STEAM Day, and Arts Week. The children were sad to hear that Jerry’s visit was over this week, and in celebration of his presence, they all wanted to share a photo, or a video and we put their sweet messages and good wishes into one compilation.
Thank you so much for this opportunity to learn and grow with you Jerry!
