Jessie’s Second Day with PLC Armidale Pre-K

As part of our Weather unit of inquiry, Pre-K have been taking a closer look at changing seasons. It is Autumn (fall) here in Australia. Today Pre-K collected Autumn leaves and showed Jessie how to create ephemeral artworks using natural materials.

Jessie joined us dancing and acting out rhymes.

Jessie danced with Pre-K and Bar Bar.

Jessie went on an imaginary bus trip over the hills to the beach with her new Pre-K  and animals friends.

She joined us for morning tea and lunch.

     

Jessie was most impressed with the healthy meals.

Time was spent creating portraits of Jessie Bear.

Jessie was given a dandelion flower to wear for the afternoon.

We look forward to going on a Teddy Bears picnic with Jessie Bear tomorrow.

Tessie in Lao PDR @Vientiane International School

What a great week we had with Tessie. First we introduced her to our classroom ‘Learner Bears’. Then she visited the 5th grade PYP Exhibition with us. She watched us at the swimming pool, and she celebrated three birthdays with us. Most of all, she inspired us to learn how to draw bears, and she participated in drawing self-portraits. Tessie was our special guest as we hosted the primary school assembly, and she had a special seat with that days’ birthday girl. We loved meeting her friends from China via Skype – even though our LCD screen played-up on us, we still enjoyed their songs and poems on the iPad. They inspired us to learn the song L.O.V.E. by Hi Five! Thank you for sharing time with us Tessie!

We look forward to another time with Tessie or one of her friends next year.
