This year Mr. Parenteau’s Kindergarten class welcomed Millie into their room. She learned so many things about what the school rules were and what types of things people were doing at Taipei American School.
Every Friday, all the Kindergarten students come together to have sing-a-long. Millie really enjoyed signing and dancing with all the kids!
Mr. Parenteau’s class also had some parent visitors who came to teach us all about eggs. We had some fun walking on them to learn about how strong they are. Millie especially enjoyed learning how eggs are good for us because they come from another animal that helps us to stay strong an healthy. It is very important for Millie to learn about how to respect Life on Land! Fun fact, did you know that an egg’s color is often determined by the color of a chicken’s earlobes?! Millie was very surprised by this!
The students in Mr. Parenteau’s class were worried that Millie wasn’t going to feel at home in their classroom, so they designed and built her a small home she could stay in at night! The Kindergartners are very good at engineering and enjoyed using the MakeDo tools to create a cardboard home for Millie while she is in Taiwan.
Millie started to become curious about what some of the big kids in the high school do at TAS, so after school Mr. Parenteau and his daughters took Millie to see some of the sports practices in the field.
Finally, Mr. Parenteau and his daughters thought it would be cool for Millie to experience one of the common ways that people in Taipei get around, on a scooter!
We hope you enjoyed your time at TAS Millie and we can’t wait to see what you will do at your next school! Take care!
