Hero loved meeting one of our 1R parents, who is a doctor and researcher. She talked to the children and Hero about their skeletons as well as lots of ways to stay healthy. Hero got a lot of great tips!
Hero investigated the relationship between the length of the strings on a piano to pitch. He learned that the longer the strings, the lower the pitch. He loved learning with the 1R scientists!
Hero eats healthy meals every day to keep his body strong. He enjoyed seeing what children in the United States eat and wondered what other kids around the world have for lunch.
Hero worked alongside the first graders as they learned how to debug programs. He now knows that lots of people make mistakes when they are coding, but that they can be easily fixed.
The first graders shared their snacks with Hero Bear. We have healthy snacks every morning to give us the energy we need to learn. Some of Hero’s favorite snacks are oranges, strawberries and apples.

Every fall, Baker School has a very special school-wide assembly called Convocation. Hero learned that the word, convocation, means beginning. Some of the older students speak to everyone about working hard and making mistakes. Hero and the first graders are really inspired to do their best in school all year.
