Teddy Is The Guest of Honor at Our Teddy Bear Picnic!

IMG_5770IMG_5766IMG_5771 IMG_5773 IMG_5774 IMG_5776 IMG_5777 IMG_5778 IMG_5781 IMG_5783 IMG_5785When Traveling Teddy first arrived in our classroom, one of our students asked if he could meet all of his classmates’ stuffed animals from home.  Like some of the other classes before us, we decided to have Teddy be the guest of honor at our Teddy Bear Picnic!  We wore bear ears and ate bear-themed snacks like Teddy Graham cookies and gummy bears.  All of the first graders did a ‘bear share’ where they presented their own teddy bears and other animals to the class.  One of the highlights of our special day was reading Corduroy, a book that is very popular in the United States.  It tells the story of a bear who despite having a broken shoulder strap on his overalls is adopted and loved by a little girl.  We had a lot of fun with Teddy as he got to know our beloved stuffed animals from home!
