Our Kindergarten classes here at Balmoral Hall School in Winnipeg, have had a blast with Bearthoven these past two weeks. He arrived on a beautiful crisp fall day, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner, where he enjoyed turkey and all the trimmings with our boarding students. After the holiday, he went to the Kindergarten rooms where he met out our girls. They were so excited to have him join their everyday activities! He took part in science experiments, calendar activities, math, reading and handwriting. He also went to our specialist classes of French, Dance, Music and Gym. Of course, being such a music lover, he did enjoy figuring out rhythms in music, and using his body to express himself in dance. It was interesting for him to learn a little bit of French. Here in Canada, we have two official languages, French and English, so our girls have French class 5 times a cycle. They do all their other lessons in English as Winnipeg is a predominantly English speaking city. We were really excited to Skype with Bearthoven’s home class in Massachusetts, and learn about their school and area.
The students and teachers will miss playing and learning with Bearthoven everyday, but we are really looking forward to tracking his adventures around the world, and learning all about the different places he visits
