Bessie goes out and about in Saffron Walden UK

WOW what an action packed week this has been for Bessie!!

Counting in the sun!

She started her 2nd week at Dame Bradbury’s attending a counting in 10’s fairground, where she helped the children to throw bean bags in hoops and knock over soft play towers to win points.

Fairground Fun!

Bessie was also present at our special St Georges day assembly led by our Head Teacher, Mrs Handford – Bessie reminded us all that this story had strong links to her own values.

During our digital lesson, Bessie even had a make-over where the children were editing their own selfies using the markup tool on the iPads.

On Tuesday (our first Teddy Takeover Tuesday) she had a very busy and outdoorsy day where she attended her first EVER Forest School session at Rowley Farm. She hunted and measured dandelions and made potions with garlic mustard and nettles. After this she visited Saffron Walden County High Schools Farm and helped plant garlic, onions, potatoes and rhubarb and finished her afternoon off by tagging and docking some lambs!

Baa-rilliant experience!

Bessie ended her week visiting our Senior School in Cambridge, where she met the SPF Principle,Tricia Kelleher and Klara the secretary of SPF’s very own United Nations. She was even treated to a pain au chocolat! When she arrived back to Saffron Walden she helped the Reception class to make world peace stickers which we wore with pride : )

Symbols of peace

After having three sleepovers, Bessie is in full swing, enjoying different home routines, reporting back on the fun times she’s had and sharing her message of peace and justice around the world. What is more, she is looking forward too many more . . .
