Freddy in West Vancouver, Canada: Part 2

The Bear Cubs, the second JK group at Collingwood, was eagerly awaiting their turn to have Freddy spend some time in the Bears’ Den. They really wanted Freddy to feel comfortable and so they decided to make him a house.

They wanted to make sure that it was colourful, that it included a library, furnishings, and of course a rooftop and a backyard since he loves the outdoors.

Finally the day arrived when Freddy was going to spend the week in the Bears’ Den. We were so excited to show him his house and all of the things that he could find in it. For the next week, we showed Freddy around the classroom and had him join us in our daily activities and routines. He ate snacks with us, we read him books, we checked the globe to see where he could travel next and of course we took him outside.

We knew that Freddy enjoyed the outdoors and we also knew that one of the reasons he enjoyed the outdoors was because his sustainable goal is all about taking care of the land we live on. We are so lucky that our school is near trails and a forest, so we decided to show him what the environment looks like here. We also wanted to show him that we work hard on keeping it clean. During Earth week, we brainstormed the different ways that we can take care of the earth.

Freddy learned all about cedar trees and different vegetation that can be found here in Vancouver, British Columbia

We noticed that Freddy did not arrive with his white satchel and we were worried that he would be missing his bag. We decided to make him his very own bag. We became inspired by each other and at the end we designed three different bags. One was for the Winter Collection, one was for the Spring Collection, and the last one was for the Summer Collection.

Sadly, the day arrived when Freddy had to get ready for his next destination. We took him to the reception to get his passport stamped with our school’s stamp and we all said our goodbyes.

We love you, Freddy!

We love you, Freddy! We will continue to follow your travels.
