We said goodbye to Matteo earlier this month. Senior infants were so sad to see him go! We loved having him visit our classroom and school. He visited all of our Junior and Senior infant classes and even paid a visit to Edenderry library when he was in town!
Matteo was in our school for a number of exciting events, including Cultural diversity day. We are so lucky to have boys and girls from all over the world in our class and school. We identified all the places Matteo has been on the world map, as well as the different countries our friends are from. Matteo was also in town for our Positive Mental Health Awareness week in St Mary’s. We had daily mindfulness activities, meditation, yoga and thought about all the things we have to be thankful for.
Before we knew it, it was time to prepare Matteo for his next adventure in Canada. We each wrote letters to the children in his new classroom. We will never forget him and talk about him each day. Go raibh mile maith agat, Matteo, slán!
